All about Bristol Airport

Located around eight miles from Bristol, the airport is built on the site of a former RAF airfield and opened its runways for the first time in 1957. Originally known as Bristol (Lulgate), it changed to Bristol International from 1997 – 2010, before settling on its current name. It’s the UK’s 9th busiest airport and hosts airlines such as easyJet, Ryanair and BMI Regional. The popular airport has seen impressive rises in passenger numbers from 1,614,837 in 1997 to 7,603,890 in 2016. Amsterdam is the busiest destination, followed by Dublin and Edinburgh.

Getting There

Bristol Airport parking products offered by APH are either on-airport, meet and greet or just a five-minute transfer from the terminal. Simply select your parking product, enter the postcode and you’ll be heading for the check-in desks within minutes.

Directions

Bristol Airport is easily accessed from the M4 and M5. On the M5, take junction 22 when heading North and junction 18 when heading South. On the M4, take junction 20 onto the M5 and take junction 18. Choose the post code BS48 3DY when using satnav.

On Arrival

Simply Park & Fly Ltd does not take vehicles from any airport, instead the service provider (see below) looks after the vehicle, while parked in their secured car park compound. You need to follow the instructions below for Park and Ride/ Meet and Greet service on your departure and return day. All the instruction (telephone number as well) will be sent to your email account once the booking is made​. NOTE: It’s illegal to use phone while driving. It is the responsibilty of the driver/customer to follow the UK Driving and transport LAW and stop at a safer place to make or take a call.​

Directions

From the A38:

Follow signs for Bristol Airport.

As you enter the airport grounds, stay in the signposted left hand lane for Short Stay.

Continue following signs for Short Stay.

Arrival Instructions

Drive to the entry barrier where the ANPR system will read your number plate and issue a ticket automatically. Take the ticket and keep it safe for your return. Do not press the button for a ticket. Allow plenty of time for airport check in and security procedures.

On Return

Exiting the Short Stay Car Park is also very simple: On return, drive to the exit barrier and insert ticket issued on arrival. The barrier will rise and allow exit. If for any reason you experiance issues with the barrier or ticketing system, please press the intercom button and raise with a member of staff.
